2005 a Memorable Year

Last year around April, I started this blog site. As I view the year's photos, I realize that it has been an incredible year to remember.

The hurricane season dominated our lives when Hurricane Katrina changed us in ways we never thought of. We thank God every day that the lives of our families were not harmed physically. I can't tell you the fear, confusion and helplessness we felt at that time.

We were able to help Beth's family by providing a place for them to stay while riding out the storm. Although the circumstances were stressful it was a good time visiting with them.

Life goes on however, and throughout the year we had our usual activites and joined new ones. I joined the UPAA (University Photographers Association of America), The Golden Triangle Running and Cycling Club and The Boardtown running club. Beth joined a book club. Michael joined the scouts. Phillip found another church youth group to hang out with. We started our second year with a classical education homeschool coop. To see more photos of the coop, go to: http://excelsiorhomeschool.blogspot.com/

I also took up an old hobby in 2005 when another photographer I met at the UPAA symposium told me he was skateboarding. I loved to skateboard when I was younger and still do. I thought as long as I enjoy it, I might as well skate while I still can.

As we finish our 14th year of homeschooling, Beth and I continue to grow in faith and love. Our kids get older and we get older. Life brings joys and disapointments but God is still in control.

Too much to say and not enough time to write it all. We hope you have a good 2006.

Cutting Hair

Beth gets a chance at cutting Aaron's hair. I think he is confident that she does a good job. Then again he looks kind of concerned. Posted by Picasa
